December 21, 2016Recipe Provided by Plymouth Baker, Jake Hill
Yield: One honkin’ 13×7″ loaf of delicious bread
Ingredients:
2 12oz cans of Mayflower Oatmeal Stout
8 cups all purpose flour
4 tbsp baking powder
4 tsp salt
2/3 cup brown sugar
4 tbsp molasses
1 cup of your favorite chocolate chips (optional)
1 cup of your favorite chopped nuts (optional)
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a big bowl and use your muscles to mix by hand.
2. The consistency of the batter will be thick. Add it to a greased 13×7″ loaf pan. (Or 2 9×5″ loaf pans, just make sure to only fill your pans half way to allow for rapid rising.)
3. Bake in a 350 degree oven until the center of the bread reaches a temperature of 190 degrees. It will be 40 minutes minimum, or up to 1.5 hours depending on the size of your pans and your oven.
4. Cool on a rack, then slice and enjoy with your buddies and more beer!
Try it grilled with butter, as a sandwich, or as French Toast!
