Job Description
A well-financed, commercial brewery located 45 minutes south of Boston is looking for a seasoned brewer with hands-on operational experience, ready to help lead all aspects of a functioning brewery to recipe creation & execution of some ridiculously good beers.
We have a 20-barrel brew house already up and running and ready to go that successfully draws the thirsty as well as the interesting to come to our space and enjoy our exceptional liquids.
Yes, there are already a lot of breweries in and around New England, we are looking for someone to help us deliver on something truly distinct, special.
Qualifications:
Our guy/gal has worked their ass off for at least 5 years in a commercial brewery and over that time, taken on greater responsibility within the brewery. They have thoughtful opinions on where the craft segment is going, and what is required to get there. They are passionate and ready to play a key role in a commercial brewery.
Our Superhero also has the experience to have developed strong opinions on aspects such as equipment selection, optimal brewery design layout, lab requirements. They are a curious sort, one who brings unbridled creativity to recipe ideas and development, tethered by lots of experience and strong understanding of the science behind brewing.
More specifically, our knight in shining armor will have brewed on at least a 20 BBL system in full production brewery, has experience creating and brewing multiple styles of beer. They possess knowledge of all aspects of brewery operations as well as packaging. This person needs to understand barrel-aging, sours, yeast strains, hop varieties, grain varieties, grain roasts, etc.
This person should be unafraid to make mistakes, but understand how to apply their learnings to achieving beer excellence.
People management experiences a plus.
Awesomeness a must.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
We are fully operational and entering our busy season in 2026. Once onboard, you will be involved in ALL aspects of the brewery operations from recipe formulation & optimization, to brewing, filtering, cleaning and lab work. By day, they should be able to heave 55lb bags of grain with reckless abandon, and by night be the face and voice of our brand.
A few of the specific duties expected: The complete brewing process from grinding to filling the fermenters; tracking & recording key measurements during whole process; yeast management; cellar management; tracking fermentations; filtering beer; cleaning tanks, ordering supplies. Yes, we expect our brewer to be comfortable doing all this. He/she will be assisted by additional sets of hands – but, as with any small business, we want people who take a joy in this process and keep their hands dirty.
Compensation:
Competitive salary based upon previous work experience and expertise.
